Cluster "Origin and development of the populations of domestic animals"

— filed under:

In this cluster, scientific methods such as genetics, isotope analyses, and morphology are used to investigate the history of domestication, breeding and exploitation of animal species from the North Atlantic area of Greenland to the Ural Mountains. This is done diachronically. On the synchronic level, analyses of exchange relationships between regions and cultures are a focal point of the research projects, as are the genotypic and phenotypic differences between contemporaneous populations of domestic animals.
