Stoneage Bog Group Network

Dr. Harald Lübke, Dr. Daniel Groß, Prof. Dr. Berit V. Eriksen, Markus Wild M.A.

European hunter-gatherer bog sites have produced well-preserved organics which enrich our understanding of this important period. These include high resolution climatic and environmental records and rare cultural material. Innovative techniques are being applied to these unique records; however, many sites are rapidly deteriorating and some of Europe’s most important heritage is vanishing. This group has been set up with the intention of bringing together specialists who work on bog sites across Europe to discuss cutting-edge scientific methodologies and to evaluate the threats to this valuable cultural resource with a view to future action and collaboration.Seeblick
