Das Ziel der Konferenz \u00fcber \u2018B\u00e4r und Mensch: Facetten einer vielschichtigen Beziehung\u2019 (Mitte Oktober 2018 im Orsa Wildtierpark, Dalarna, Schweden) war das bessere Verst\u00e4ndnis dieser Beziehung im Zeitraum von den sp\u00e4ten J\u00e4gern und Sammlern bis in die Moderne, unter Einschluss von Biologen und einem breiten Spektrum an Geisteswissenschaftlern. Der geographische Schwerpunkt lag in Nordeuropa unter besonderer Ber\u00fccksichtigung h\u00f6chst aufschlussreicher Funde aus Schweden. Die rund 20 Vortr\u00e4ge hatten eine begrenzte L\u00e4nge (20 Minuten), jeweils gefolgt von einer offenen Diskussion (10 Minuten).
