Socio-Environmental Dynamics over the Last 12,000 Years: The Creation of Landscapes IV

CAU Kiel, March 24-27, 2015

The Graduate School “Human Development in Landscapes” at Kiel University is glad to announce the international Open Workshop “Socio-Environmental Dynamics over the Last 12,000 Years: The Creation of Landscapes IV”. It will take place in Kiel March 24-27, 2015 for the fourth time after 2009, 2011 and 2013.

This workshop aims to bring together researchers from different disciplines to discuss the interaction between physical and social landscapes as the most profound process that catalyses human activities in space and time; and the interplay of environments, social relationships, material culture, population dynamics, and human perceptions of socio-environmental change.

2 Sessions will be co-organised by members of the ZBSA:

session 1-1 (Dr. Harald Lübke & Dr. Ulrich Schmölcke)
Fish(ing) communities and fishing technologies in inland waters, rivers and at the coast

session 4 (Prof. Dr. Berit Valentin Eriksen & Dr. Mara-Julia Weber)
From the East to the West – Palaeoethnography of the Late Palaeolithic Tanged Point groups
